Hakuba ryokan accomodation street: Old-street’s post town
Maruhachi is located in Shinden (新田) area in Hakuba village. Shiden was one of the post-town and baggage station of Chikuni-Kaido (千国街道) which was an old street from Nagano prefecture to Niigata prefecture. Shinden area has remained a traditional landscape. During walking, hear a river sound and look at autumn leaves.

Hatago Maruhachi separate two building. Both are located beside Shinden old street. Firstly we introduce 2LDK Suite Apartment (premiere suite) which building is the traditional type house.

Hatago Maruhachi First building (旅籠丸八 壱番館) is so amazing and traditional accommodation. All contents are a cool and modern design. The winter season is expensive but the off-season is cheap that guests can stay at affordable prices. Maruhachi is wonderful space to enjoy the countryside of Japan.

Hakuba accommodation Convenient & Comfortable : 旅籠丸八 弐番館
Hatago Maruhachi Second building (旅籠丸八 弐番館) is perfect for staying with friends and family together. This is cheaper than the first building but the quality is the same level and guests can enjoy different things.
The second building has an entrance room which gathers some groups in the same place. Guests enjoy staying with multiple families and communicate with other groups. By the way, there is a wine cellar. Actually guests can drink free this wine! So amazing Omotenashi (service).
The kitchen room is attractive content. Usually, guests eat dinner at Shoya Maruhachi. But if you stay in a long time, you might get bored a little at the restaurant every day. At that time, let’s shop and at the local supermarket! and cook dishes!

LUXURY Japanese Traditional suite hotel: 旅籠丸八 参番館
Hatago Maruhachi Sanban-kan (旅籠丸八 参番館) is opened 13th December 2019. Sanban-kan was renovated from Former hotel and Kura (蔵). It is different, more casual atmosphere to compare Ichiban-kan and Niban-kan. The new accommodation of Hatago Maruhachi not only is stylish, but also fun.
Traditional Japanese Kura room accommodation
Maisonette type room is the traditional Japanese Kura room accommodation. Kura (蔵) are traditional Japanese storehouses. The wall of the room is expressed in the old material and structure. Guests can feel the atmosphere between cool and traditional styles.
Maruhachi Sanbankan has Casual and Family room
Maruhachi expands the guest’s target since 2019. Ichiban-kan and Niban-kan were very stylish and cool concept rooms. Sanban-kan’s room becomes a natural color and a casual atmosphere. We recommend Family guests!
Hakuba Japanese Restaurant : Shoya Maruhachi (庄屋 丸八)
Shoya Maruhachi (庄屋 丸八) is a new high-quality restaurant at Shinden, Hakuba. Guests can enjoy fresh seafood, and Nagano’s fresh seasonal vegetable and meat. There are Samurai costumes and a lot of Edo period’s goods in the building. But not only traditional and historical atmosphere but also cool and modern design.
Nagano prefecture is well known Basashi (horse meat sashimi, 馬刺し). It is a precious food that can not be eaten outside of Japan.
Sashimi (刺身) is one of the best dishes at Shoya Maruhachi. Shoya Maruhachi is located on Chikuni-Kaido that is carrying fishes and salts and more between Matsumoto and Itoigawa where is Niigata prefecture located on Japan Sea Coast. So guests can eat delicious Sashimi.
Do you know Temaki-Sushi (手巻き寿司)? It means literally “hand-rolled sushi” Guests can enjoy various kinds of rolls.
