Shirahone Onsen (白骨温泉) is located in halfway up to a hill of Norikura Mountain that is a sacred mountain in Matsumoto city. Shirahone Onsen lies near the famous and popular alpine nature area such as Norikura plateau and Kamikochi.

SHIRAHONE ONSEN MEANING
The origin of the Shirahone is “Calcium component is coagulated in the bath and floor, which is looked a white bone“.
Shirahone Onsen is effective against gastrointestinal disorder, internal disease, neural stress.

There is a direct bus from Matsumoto Station to Shirahone Onsen. It is approximately 80 minutes, 1,950 yen, ALPICO GROUP. (2019 April 17th ~ November 15th)
Shirahone Onsen from Tokyo
Visitor can get a highway bus from Basuta Shinjuku from Shinjuku to Matsumoto.

Shirahone Onsen Awanoyu Ryokan (白骨温泉 泡の湯)
Awa no yu (泡の湯) is that visitors can do a Day trip to the hot springs. Awa no yu is introduced by some TV as a Konyoku that even women can experience.
There are two onsens of a separate type at Awa no yu. One is a clear and lukewarm water bath. On the other hand, milky-water, 40 degrees. There is an open-air bath.
Shirahone Onsen Katsura-no-yu Marunaga Ryokan (かつらの湯 丸永旅館)
Katura no yu (かつらの湯 丸永旅館) is next to Awa no yu. Katsura no yu is not bigger than Awa no yu. But the visitor can enjoy drinking onsen and water flowing directly from the hot spring source.
Katsura no yu is Ryokan(Japanese hotel). But the visitor can take a day trip to the hot spring. Inside onsen is separated gender. Open-air onsen is Konyoku!
Shirahone Onsen Nakanoyu Onsen Ryokan (白骨温泉 中の湯温泉旅館)
There is a most strange onsen in front of the tunnel going to Kamikochi. This small cabin is Bokuden no yu (卜伝の湯), is managed by Nakanoyu Onsen Ryokan (中の湯温泉旅館). This onsen is only reserved and chartered onsen. An onsen mania of the whole country wants to come once.
The inside is a small cave onsen, a little dark, and unique atmosphere. The hot spring is a hot degree. One set limited to 30 minutes only. If you want to take a Bokuden no yu, please call ＋81 263 95 2341.
Shirahone Onsen Konashinoyu Sasaya (白骨温泉 小梨の湯 笹屋)
Recently, Konashinoyu Sasaya (小梨の湯 笹屋) only occasionally take a daytime bath. However, the quality of the hot spring is good, the building is also tasteful.
The open-air bath lies next to the birch forest. There is also a maple tree on the hot spring, visitors can look to collaboration white born hot spring and maple tree in the autumn season.
Shirahone Onsen Sakamaki Onsen Ryokan Inn (信州上高地 坂巻温泉旅館)
Sakamaki no yu (坂巻の湯) is located in a little far from the center of Shirahone Onsen. There are indoor bath and open-air bath, day tripper can take both only 600yen.
A color of hot spiring of Sakamaki no yu is not the white born color. Even in the same area (Shirahone Onsen area), the source of hot spring differs depending on the location. It is interesting for a visitor to compare each hot spring’s color, smell, degree.
Shirahone Onsen Yumoto Saito Ryokan (白骨温泉 齋藤旅館)
Sito ryokan (齋藤旅館) is one of the biggest Ryokan in Shirahone onsen for over 270 years. There are 51 rooms, sleeping type both bed and futon (Japanese style). And guests can eat special Japanese beef dishes. Of course, hot spring is high quality.
Shirahone Onsen Tsuruya Ryokan (白骨温泉 つるや旅館)
Tsuruya ryokan (つるや旅館) is Located a 20-minute drive away from Norikura Ski Resort. Tsuruya Ryokan offers free Wi-Fi in public areas and indoor and open-air hot spring baths. In the ryokan, there is karaoke, gift shops, several types of hot springs.

Shirahone Onsen Baikoan (白骨温泉 媒香庵)
Baikoan (媒香庵) is located next to the public bath of Shirahone Onsen. The building is also tasteful. Visitor can eat lunch and take a bath.
Matsumoto city is well known that there are many good soba restaurants, so visitors can eat several types of soba at Bikoan. Our recommended menu is local food topping soba.
There is an open-air bath at Bikoan. A landscape from onsen is rich nature and beautiful. Visitors can have a luxurious time.

Shirahone Onsen tattoo OK?
Usually, people with tattoos cannot take a hot springs. However, they can take a bath of private onsen (貸し切り風呂). Shirahone onsen area, a private onsen is more than other onsen area.
