Ueda Castle Ruins (上田城跡) is located in Ueda city where is east area in Nagano Prefecture. Ueda castle is the most popular sightseeing place in Ueda city. The castle was built in the 16th century by Sanada Masayuki(真田昌幸) who is very popular samurai “Sanada Yukimura(真田幸村)”‘s father. Ueda castle has never been attacked, so it is said to be auspicious. Currently, there is a famous park with a thousand cherry blossom that blooms in April. You can walk about 10 minutes from Ueda station. One of the best access historical site in Ueda city from Ueda station.

Ueda castle cherry blossom, sen-bon zakura
Ueda Castle Ruins is well known as a beautiful cherry blossom place in Nagano prefecture. There is a special festival every year while in April. Many cherry blossoms are called “Sen-bon zakura” that means one thousand cherry blossom trees. While the festival, sen-bon zakura is lighted, this scene is really beautiful!

There was Sanadamaru Museum that is related to the special historical drama “Sanadamaru” that is broad by Japan Broadcasting Corporation. There are many location spots of this drama in Ueda city. So Ueda city public office opened the museum while only two years. Unfortunately, the museum is nothing now.
