Kyu-Karuizawa Ginza Street
Firstly, let’s go Kyu-Karuizawa Ginza Street (旧軽井沢銀座) about 15 minutes from Karuizawa station. Visitor can feel “The Karuizawa Atmosphere” by walking. Kyu-Karuizawa Ginza Street was Nakasendo that was Japanese old highway. A visitor will feel fusion western-style and Japanese style culture. At first, we recommend a walk and eat tour!
There is a cafe’de minoriya where has special soft serve that was eaten and praised by John Lennon.
Shiraito Waterfalls
”Shiraito waterfall (白糸の滝)”. Actually, there is some same name waterfall in Japan. “Shiraito” means “white string”, Shiraito waterfall looks like white strings. this waterfall is not high meter and not flowing fast. but this is the characteristic point of Shiraito waterfall. Shiraito waterfall is well known that water is not unclear every day, every time. The reason why all-time clear that Shiraito’s water is spring from Asama mountain.
Kumano Koutai Shrine
The Kumano Koutai Shrine (熊野皇大神社) that is known as a power spot in between Nagano and Gunma prefecture. This shrine is one of the best 3 Kumano in Japan. Kumano Kotai Shrine is only Nagano’s name. Gunma people have called Kumano Shrine.
Mikasa Hotel
Mikasa Hotel (三笠ホテル) is one of the best historical spots. Mikasa hotel opened in 1906 until 1970. It is registered as an important cultural property. Mikasa hotel has been liked a lot of famous business people, culture people, politicians.

Kumoba-ike Pond
Kumoba-ike Pond (雲場池) is one of the 3 major attractive spots in Karuizawa. It is a beautiful spot that reflection of the forests in the water of the lake. Kumoba-ike is called Swan Lake. Since visitor can look at many kinds of birds.
Hoshino Resort Area
Tombo no Yu (トンボの湯) is located Naka Karuizawa Area (中軽井沢). Tombo no yu is managed by Hoshino resort that is a famous Japanese resort company which established in Karuizawa.
Actually, there is almost nothing onsen (hot spring) in Karuizawa area. But Tombo no yu is Onsen. Unfortunately, we couldn’t take a picture inside the building, but inside is really cool! Let’s go Tombo no yu!

Harunire terrace (ハルニレテラス) is located about 5 minutes by walk from Tombo no yu. There are many cool shops and restaurant.

POINT TO BE CAREFUL OF KARUIZAWA
A visitor may feel Karuizawa is strong sun area, and night time is cold. So you have various kinds of wear. And there is frequently a traffic jam. Especially, Summer and Autumn season is high season. we recommend spring season until Japanese golden week (4/29 ~ 5/5) and weekday.
